Accessibility

We treat accessibility as part of building the site rather than as an audit at the end. Each page is checked for heading structure, colour contrast, keyboard operation, focus visibility and alternative text before it goes live.

We aim to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. “Partially conformant” means most of the site meets the standard and the parts that do not are listed on this page.

• Colour contrast: body copy, labels and interface text meet at least 4.5:1 against their background. The primary call-to-action exceeds 7:1.
• Keyboard: everything is reachable in a logical order, focus is always visible, and a skip-to-content link is the first thing a keyboard user reaches.
• Structure: one h1 per page, headings in order, landmarks for header, navigation, main and footer, and lists marked up as lists.
• Images: every meaningful image has descriptive alternative text. Decorative images are hidden from assistive technology rather than given filler text.
• Forms: every field has a visible, permanently associated label. Errors are announced, described in words rather than by colour alone, and linked to the field they belong to.
• Motion: animation is decorative only, and is disabled entirely when your operating system asks for reduced motion. The video on the home page is silent and carries no information.
• Text: no text is locked into images, so it reflows and resizes with your browser settings up to 200% without loss of function.
• Status messages: bag updates, filter counts and form results are announced to screen readers without moving focus.

As at 7 August 2026 we are aware of the following and are working on them:

• Product photography alternative text describes the item and the setting but does not yet describe fine surface texture in detail. We are rewriting these to be more specific.
• The collection picture menu in the desktop header opens on hover as well as on click. It is fully operable by keyboard, but we intend to move to click-only to make the behaviour more predictable.
• Some policy tables scroll horizontally on narrow screens. They are marked up as data tables with proper headers, but a stacked layout would read better on a phone.

If something is blocking you that is not on this list, please tell us — that is more useful to us than anything else.

The site is built to work with current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, with VoiceOver, NVDA and JAWS, and with browser zoom and text resizing.

It is not tested against browsers that are no longer supported by their makers, and some features may not work there.

We acknowledge within two business days and give you a realistic timescale for a fix. If something will take time, we will offer to complete the task with you over email or phone in the meantime — including placing an order.
